Om organisationen og missionen
Handala ll er med i den næste bølge af flotilla skibe, der sejler mod Gaza i 2026.
Handala II-missionen til Gaza er et fredeligt civilsamfundsinitiativ, der arbejder for at fastholde offentlighedens opmærksomhed på menneskerettigheder, international ret og beskyttelsen af civile palæstinensere – med det mål at få ophævet den mangeårige blokade af Gaza.
Hvem vi er
Vi er et dansk civilt initiativ under den internationale Freedom Flotilla Coalition, der har sejlet skibe mod Gaza siden 2008. Vi samarbejder med frivillige og partnere i hele Europa, og vores arbejde bygger på ikke-vold, oplysning og samfundsdeltagelse.
Hvad vi gør
I 2026 sejler skibet Handala II på en langdistancemission, der starter i Skandinavien, går gennem flere nordiske havne og fortsætter mod Gaza. Undervejs afholder vi offentlige events og oplysningsaktiviteter, der skal informere og engagere lokalsamfund langs ruten.
Hvorfor vi gør det
Vi tror på, at vedvarende civilt engagement gør en forskel. Når kriser forsvinder fra den offentlige debat, risikerer de at blive normaliseret. Med Handala II skaber vi synlighed, dialog og forbindelse gennem fredelig og tydelig ikke-voldelig handling.
Hvad dit bidrag går til
Donationer er med til at dække en del af missionens drifts- og logistikomkostninger – blandt andet udgifter til sejlads, navigationsudstyr, teknik, kommunikation, oplysningsaktiviteter samt organisatoriske udgifter direkte knyttet til projektet.

The flotilla ship Handala II is docking in Copenhagen harbour on its way to the Mediterranean – to mark the occasion, we’re having a film screening, community kitchen and a fundraising party!

About the organization and the mission
Handala II is part of the next wave of flotilla ships sailing to Gaza in 2026.
The Handala II mission to Gaza is a peaceful civil society initiative working to keep public attention on human rights, international law, and the protection of Palestinian civilians – with the goal of lifting the long-standing blockade of Gaza.
Who we are
We are a Danish civil initiative under the international Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which has been sailing ships toward Gaza since 2008. Our work is grounded in nonviolence, public outreach, and civic engagement.
What we’re doing
In 2026, the ship Handala II is undertaking a long-distance mission that starts in Scandinavia, passes through several Nordic ports, and continues on to Gaza. Along the way, we’ll hold public events and outreach activities designed to inform and engage communities on the route.
Why we’re doing it
We believe sustained civic engagement makes a difference. When crises fade from public debate, they risk becoming normalized. With Handala II, we create visibility, dialogue, and connection through peaceful and visible nonviolent action.
What your contribution supports
Donations help cover part of the mission’s operational and logistical costs – including expenses for sailing, navigation equipment,
- technical preparation, communication, outreach activities, and organizational costs directly tied to the project.
